About the Black Hat Conference Startup Spotlight Competition

The Black Hat Conference at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas is one of the world’s largest cybersecurity events, renowned for bringing together industry leaders, security experts, and decision-makers from across the globe. The Startup Spotlight Competition is a highly competitive platform where cybersecurity startups pitch their innovative products and solutions to a live audience of conference attendees. Knostic emerged as a standout among the final four finalists, showcasing our unique ideas and approach to AI security.

Unparalleled Achievement at Both RSA and Black Hat Conferences

Knostic is the only startup to be nominated and win at both RSAC’s LaunchPad and Black Hat USA's Startup Spotlight Competition. We were also the only AI security finalist at both events. This dual recognition underscores our innovative approach to cybersecurity challenges and the critical need for robust security measures as AI becomes increasingly integrated into technology and enterprise systems.

Addressing the Large Language Models Over-Sharing Challenge

With the rise of AI-powered enterprise search tools like Copilot for M365, the risks and vulnerabilities associated with unrestricted access to sensitive information have become increasingly apparent. Knostic is dedicated to developing need-to-know controls that prevent oversharing and protect valuable data, ensuring that business leaders are not caught off guard by questions like “What are people’s salaries?” or “What are the most recent M&A due diligence results?”

This oversharing problem is derailing AI transformation projects across organizations, affecting executives' ability to meet their annual OKRs and performance goals, creating an immediate urgency in the market for technical solutions that enable secure adoption of LLM-powered tools.

Gratitude for Our Team and Supporters

We want to express our deep gratitude to Knostic co-founder and CTO, Sounil Yu, who delivered an exceptional talk at the Black Hat event. His expertise and passion for cybersecurity were instrumental in securing this win. Knostic CEO, Gadi Evron, emphasized that this victory was a true team effort, made possible by the dedication and hard work of everyone at Knostic.
